Here's SKUA, our man on the rail: "Welcome to the 4th of July Weekend of racing. It is filled with stakes racing from coast to coast. Today is Thursday and I am limited to information going into the back part of the weekend, but here's how it looks thus far. At Momouth Park there is a trio of graded stakes listed. On Friday there is the Jersey Shore, a 6 furlong sprint in which J Be K will be heavily favored. Saturday has a pair of stakes, The Salvatore Mile and The U.N. Handicap, both of which are 'Win and You're In' Breeders' Cup Qualifiers. In the Salvatore Gotcha Gold will be favored and we do not know yet the field for the U.N. as of this writing. Friday at Churchill is the Firecracker Mile on the turf which will once again have Einstein and Thorn Song locking horns. Friday at Belmont has the First Flight and the Tom Fool being run, Saturday bring on The Prioress, and The Dwyer rounds it off Sunday. Finally, out west at Hollywood, Saturday brings on 5 graded stakes in what is the best card of the holiday weekend. Saturday at Hollywood will provide probably the best racing of the weekend. The 1st stakes on tap will be the Hollywood Juvenile for 2 yr old colts. The Vanity will be run for fillies and mares going 1-1/8th on the main track. Next is the Cash Call Mile which will bring together some of the best turf milers around (but not Kip Deville). The American Oaks for fillies and mares going 1-1/8th on the turf and finally the Triple Bend for 3 yr olds on up going 7 furlongs on the main track. A top day of racing for sure. So sit back, enjoy the good racing and remember to celebrate the 4th for what it is. The birthday of our country. So remember all those who have served and are serving this great nation. Remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice of giving their lives for it and us. It is more than just a long weekend, it's time to remember and think of just how good we have it, no matter how bad you think we have it, it is MUCH worse elsewhere. Enjoy the good racing and God Bless America." That's Todays......
