| Update 0612: Monday/Tuesday, June 29/30, 2009 Another fantastic night last night in Heaven for Barbaro and all his equine friends. Look What We Found In The Equine Heaven Archives!! Flashback Alert...25 Ft. Loaf of Bread Anyone??!!! .......let's see, where were we.....OH YA!!! BREAD ATTACK!!! The Heavenly oven is at it's wits end trying to encapsulate Slew's supposedly "easy to make" loaf of Heavenly bread!!! The hinges of the oven are making "creeking" and "groaning" noises as if it's gonna let go any second!! You can see the Heavenly bread pushing itself against the glass of the oven door!! The Heavenly foals are laughing and stomping their little hooves uncontrollaby as they watch Slew and Thunder panic!!!! OH GREAT-JUST WHAT SLEW NEEDS!!--Here comes the Heavenly "spit balls" directly aimed at Slew's giant chef's hat..SPLAT...RAT-A-TATTAT, five colts, all at once, all the while Slew and Thunder are frantically turning knobs and pushing buttons to prevent this bread from overtaking the entire Heavenly school!!!! Neither one of them are about to open the Heavenly oven door--NO WAY!!! The fillies are covering their little muzzles, trying to conceal their giggles as the boys keep "pelting" Slew with a continuous "blow" of little wet gobs of Heavenly paper!!! Thunder keeps asking Slew repeatedly..."How much 'rapid rise yeast' did you put in that mixture..15 pounds!?!?" Slew, trying to keep his chef's hat from falling off due to the enormous amount of Heavenly "spit balls" attached to it, looks at Thunder with wide eyes......"I put in what it said.....!!" Thunder quickly looks back at the class and tries to regain some Heavenly order by asking the foals to take out their Equine Confirmation books and begin reading Chapter One.......YA RIGHT!!! That just got them more riled up, bucking and squealing, whinnying with laughter as Slew tries to control his Heavenly bread fiasco!! OOPS!! Here comes the paper airplanes!!! As Slew and Thunder re-read the ingredients together, (they are a continuous target, a.k.a. "landing strip" for paper airplanes, which, might I add, now have "spit balls" glued to the noses of the planes), Thunder realizes that the mixture was only suppose to contain 2 cups of yeast, but Slew read the "bulk bread" ingredients, which called for 2 pounds!!! YIKES!!!! Gallant Secret and Ruffian, who were just down the hall and heard the commotion, came trotting in the classroom.........and much to their surprise, er, ah, not surprise, found Slew and Thunder with their hooves and paws "full"!!! Gallant Secret quickly headed towards the Heavenly oven and pulled the plug....while Ruffian stood at the front of the class clapping her front hooves together to settle down the foals!!! It took one word from Ruffian......"HEY!!" You've never seen foals gather in their seats so fast.....and as a tiny smile formed on Ruffian's lips, she could feel in her heart that "babies" were something that she could get used to......OH SECRETARIAT!!!! That's another day, back to the Heavenly "Home-Ec" class and the "oh-so-easy-to-make-bread"!! Slew stared at the Heavenly door of the oven, almost contemplating his plan of attack, running numbers in his mind, calculating minutes, exit and escape routes.....etc., etc.................Enough already...Slew opened the oven door........CLUNK----BOINNNGGGGG!!!! Out catapulted the Heavenly bread at an accelerated speed undetectable by your Earthly (or our Heavenly) radar guns!!!---It was the first time Slew could ever remember the ADVANTAGE of jumping sideways out of the Earthly starting gate!! He bounced to the left, barely missing the "loaf locamotive" and tumbled into the Heavenly play dough that was pre-mixed for the following day's ceramic's class!!! The foals began laughing hysterically once again, as well as Ruffian, Thunder, and Gallant Secret, as Slew wiped "playdough" out of his eyes!! Everyone was clapping with delight as the bread finally stopped near the back of the Heavenly classroom---hmmm, a twenty-five foot loaf of bread??? As Slew went over to check his creation, the little red "temperature button" wedged in the top of it, popped up..."PLOOOK!!" Slew, with a huge smile on his face, stated the obvious to his students...... "Bread's Done"!!!! |
